My Story

I was a Buddhist for over 30 years and have been a Christian now for over 20 years. While I was a Buddhist, I hardly knew any Buddhist theology. I was made Buddhist by my mother, who was a Buddhist preacher. But she never taught me the theology of Buddhism. She told me to live as a good person, not do bad things, and believe in Buddhism, and I would go to heaven after I died. Years later, I discovered that most Buddhists do not know the basic Buddhist doctrines and theology. I went to a Catholic high school and graduated there. I actually did well in my Bible class. However, I knew nothing of Christian salvation and how to help people get saved. Even after I became a Christian and attended a Christian church for several years, there was no emphasis in the church to help people get saved. People were contented to see the same people with no new members. They considered themselves as being a good Christian if they were obedient to the teaching of Christ. However, the last command from Jesus, the Great Commission, to take the Gospel to everyone, even to the four corners of the world, did not seem to be very important to them. I also noticed many Christians do not know Christian theology as well as they should. Many Catholics are not sure whether they are saved, despite a lifetime of being a Catholic. There is a need to help the followers of Jesus Christian understand His teaching and theology, especially on Christian salvation. I have the same desire for Buddhists, to help them understand Buddhism’s theology, especially their salvation, which is Nirvana. The goal of this blog is not to advocate Buddhism or Christianity but to explain the theology of Buddhism and Christianity and their differences, especially in the area of salvation. I wish for someone interested in Buddhism or Christianity and considering committing to it to have the opportunity to know their theology by reading my blog so they will have the knowledge to make an informed decision.
